I know it’s not on my end or my friend’s end. Your ping can read 9,999, you’ll randomly drop out of lobbies or outright not be able to connect to said lobbies in the first place. The lag is borderline unplayable and I’m honestly not sure exactly what is causing the issue, possibly something wrong with the netcode. The multiplayer is the sole reason I bought the game, to play it with friends. What I didn’t see many people talking about, and I didn’t expect to be a problem, was just how laggy the multiplayer is. Wouldn't recommend for anyone except diehard 40k and/or Dark Angels fans. I couldn't even get through the second mission (twice) without feeling like this game would be a slog. You're communicating on a "Secure Canal." I feel like this game might have been run through Google Translate prior to shipping. Lastly, and this is just another straw on the pile of "game isn't quite done yet," but there are a lot of typos. Visuals are nice, but, as like in a lot of 40k games, the palette is a bit drab and unexciting. The story and dialogue are standard WH40k fare, but the voice acting (English) is pretty flat. Or maybe it was the randomly spawned cultist with a rocket launcher behind you that your AI buddies completely missed because they're stuck on a pipe somewhere. Or maybe it's that a turret suddenly popped out of the ceiling and one-shotted you. Why? Because the game gives you very little indication that your being hit, shot, etc. However, you'll be dead because you didn't notice your armor taking damage. I'm a single player person and I came for shooting genestealers as a terminator and the game definitely delivers on that premise.
There is so much potential in this game but the polish just isn't there. I picked the base game up when it came out, super excited, then never played it and got the Deathwing Enhanced Edition for free so I decided to jump back in 2023!
